Islamabad, 36th meeting of the Standing Committee on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination was held today under the Chairmanship of Dr.Hafeez-ur-Rehman Khan Drishak, MNA.
The Committee considered Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) in detail and approved the same with some suggestions. The Committee highlighted the loopholes in on-going and new projects of the Ministry for PSDP 2018-19 in reply of which, Ministry assured the Committee that Ministry will consider the suggestions in letter and spirit.
The Committee considered the “HIV/AIDS (Safety and Control) Bill, 2013” (moved by Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, MNA) and after detail deliberation recommended that the Bill may be deferred till next meeting.
The Committee also considered the “The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan- (Amendment) Bill, 2017” (moved by Dr. Nafeesa Inayatullah Khan Khattak, MNA) in detail and rejected the bill. Further the Committee recommended that Ministry may investigate the matter of open milk being sold at Sunday Bazaarswhich is injurious to the health of Childs.
All other agenda items deferred till next meeting of the Committee.

Members/MNA/Mover Dr. Muhammad Afzal Khan Dhandla, Ms. Shakila Khalid Luqman, Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, Dr. Muhammad Azhar Khan Jadoon, Syed Ghazi Gulab Jamal, MNAs, Ms. Nafeesa Inayatullah Khan Khattak, MNA/Mover and Ms. Saira Afzal Tarrar, Minister for NHS,R&C attended the meeting, besides members, senior officers of the Ministry of NHS,R&C and National Institute of Health (NIH), attended the meeting.
