Three Kashmiri youth killed by Indian troops in IOK

SRINAGAR (Web Desk) – Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred at least three Kashmiri youth in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday.According to Kashmir Media Service, the troops killed the youth during a cordon and search operation in Chowgam area of the district. They were arrested and the killed after severe torture. The operation continued till reports last came in.Meanwhile, the occupation authorities have snapped mobile internet service in Kulgam and Islamabad districts of south Kashmir to prevent people from sharing information about the situation.

On Friday, people held forceful demonstrations in Srinagar, Sopore, Kokarnag and other areas against the illegal detentions, killings and holding of the so-called elections in the territory.

A large number of people including Hurriyat leaders and activists held demonstrations at Hyderpora and Nowahatta in Srinagar and in Sopore, Kokarnag and Dangerpora areas and shouted high-pitched pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. The protesters were led by Hurriyat leaders including Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Bilal Siddiqi, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Imtiaz Reshi, Javaid Ahmed Mir, Nisar Hussain Rathar, Khawaja Firdous Wani, Hameed Elahi and Imtiaz Ahmad Shah.They were holding placards and banners with slogans “We want freedom”, “release Kashmiri detainees” and “No to all elections – till right to self-determination”. Indian troops fired teargas shells to disperse the protesters in Sopore, injuring many of them.The Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has welcomed the newly-appointed UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet’s recent remarks wherein she expressed concern over human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir. He deplored that India’s response to her statement has exposed its claims regarding human values and democracy.
