Shehbaz worked hard to serve masses, says Nawaz

ISLAMABADFormer Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday defended his brother Shehbaz Sharif, following his arrest by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Ashiana Housing Scheme scandal.Talking to reporters outside the accountability court in Islamabad, Sharif said that Shehbaz, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)president, worked day and night for the betterment of the people.

Nawaz revealed that though Shehbaz is suffering from cancer, he worked hard and ignored his health.“I will speak but not now. I do not want to speak now,” said Nawaz when questioned on the current political situation in the country.Shehbaz was handed on a 10-day remand to the accountability watchdog after a hearing on Saturday.

In a detailed statement issued later, the accountability watchdog accused Shehbaz of misusing authority and acting in connivance with Fawad Hassan Fawad and others to illegally cancel the contract awarded to M/s Chaudhry Latif and Sons for infrastructure development of the project.
