Ishaq Dar will attend OGP Summit, AFD moot & hold Bilateral Meetings in France

Paris, 5th December, 2016. Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs will undertake a three day official visit to Paris, France starting from tomorrow. Senator Dar accepted the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France and the UK government to participate in the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Summit being held from 6th to 9thDecember in Paris.

During his visit, the Minister will attend the OGP Summit and the 75th Anniversary Celebration of French Agency of Development (AFD) hosted by French President Francoise Hollande.

The Finance Minister will attend Open Government Partnership (OGP) Summit where leaders of over seventy countries will debate on principles of transparency, accountability and citizen participation which contributes to good governance and socio-economic development of member countries.

The Minister will speak at the roundtable “Perspective from New OGP Member Countries” after announcing Pakistan’s intent to join OGP process.

Launched in 2011, OPG is a multilateral initiative aimed at promoting the principles of open and transparent government through civic consultation and participation, reinforcing public integrity and the fight against corruption.

The Minister will also be holding bilateral meetings with CEO French Agency for Development (AFD), Deputy CEO Open Government Partnership (OGP) and the management of Renault and Engie, besides interacting with French and Paris based Pakistani Media.
