Islamabad, 20th March, 2018: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence visited this morning to the Headquarters of Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, Karachi under the Chairmanship of Shaikh Rohale Asghar, MNA. The Committee was welcomed by Director General, Pakistan Maritime Security Agency.
Thereafter, the Committee was briefed on the functions, role, challenges and future plans of the PMSA in detail. The Committee appreciated the role of the PMSA and vigilant monitoring the area of responsibility and coastal line. The Committee recommended that the Federal Government should allocate the requisite budget in the forthcoming budget as requested by the PMSA through Ministry of Defence to meet future requirements of Pakistan Maritime Security Agency.
The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Muhammad Akram, Ms. Surriya Asghar, SardarMuhammad Shafqat Hayat Khan, Lt. Col (R) Ghulam Rasul Sahi, Mr. Saeed Ahmed Khan Manais,Sheikh Fayyaz ud Din, Malik Muhammad Amir Dogar, Ms. Kishwer Zehra, Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Mr. Tahir Bashir Cheema and Mr.Muhammad Ijaz-ul- Haq MNAs and Officers/Officials of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA).
